WARNING: Succession spoilers below.
I love a roomy bag. I love big bags. I may be a small person, but I like bringing bags that could fit my entire life’s work with me wherever I go. My dad always tells me to pack light, but I cannot do it for the life of me. I have to have everything. With this, I would like to defend the need of having big or roomy bags in one’s life.
If you’ve seen the season premiere of Succession season 4, Tom Wambsgans made a snarky comment about Bridget’s bag. She brought a flashy Burberry tote that had the brand’s infamous check print.
I kinda agree with Tom on this. It’s flashy and almost vulgar-looking to the worldview of the ultra-rich. However, I like the bag’s structure. It looks sturdy and roomy— two things that I look for in a bag.
Speaking of bags, I have three ludicrously capacious bags that I cannot live without at the moment. They are workhorses in my bag collection.
The first bag that I’m going to point out in this category is my Coffee & Things market bag from Yardstick Coffee. Originally intended for groceries, I use this bag for almost everything: laundry, work, and pets. I’ve used this several times to carry Berry around during walks, and it has been a comfortable spot for him to stay inside. It’s also huge enough to house a weekend’s worth of clothes.
The second ludicrously capacious bag that I use for almost anything is my Uniqlo half-moon shoulder bag. I know everyone and their mother has this, but it’s just too good to pair with anything. It’s my go-to bag that holds my essentials, such as my keys, lip products, notebooks, and my life pouch. It may be small, but it’s roomy enough to house all the things that I need.
The last bag that I have in mind is my Longchamp Le Pliage Neo crossbody in green. I’m usually not the type to carry around a colorful bag, but this has been a reliable piece in my bag collection for quite some time now. It can house a lot of things, such as my laptop, my books, and my journals. However, what I like about this bag the most is how roomy and structured it is. You can put a lot of things, yet it still doesn’t lose it shape. Sure, the color is a little too bright for some, but it’s a beautiful sight to behold.
Speaking of more ludicrously capacious bags, I have some bags from my wishlist that fit the description:
This Beyond the Vines dumpling bag — I still want this, even if people have this bag. It seems to fit everything, even small dogs.
This sling bag for pets - perfect for walks with Berry
I hope you enjoyed this bag roundup— and enjoy your ludicrously capacious ones at that. Fuck Tom Wambsgans’ opinion.
Until the next brain dump,
Lea
